Mortified

Get Mortified

Hailed as "a cultural phenomenon" by Newsweek and featured frequently on This American Life, Mortified is a national grassroots comedy collective, officially launched in LA in the Fall of 2002, that encourages everyday people to share their most embarrassing childhood creations (journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories and more)... in front of total strangers.

Its stage show, Mortified Live, is the largest and longest-running show of its kind and runs monthly in cities everywhere (LA, NYC, San Fran, Chicago, Boston) to packed houses fueled by intense word-of-mouth from beyond awesome fans.

The debut book, Mortified: Real Words, Real People, Real Pathetic hits stores on 11/28/06.

Share the shame.

Slava's Snowshow

“Slava’s Snowshow is to clowning what Cirque du Soleil is to the circus.” —Variety

“The most flat-out spectacular moment Off-Broadway has seen in years.” —Entertainment Weekly

“A bust-out party offering every inner child in the house a chance to act out with gleeful abandon” —San Francisco Chronicle

One of the world’s busiest clowns and a beloved celebrity in his native Russia, Slava Polunin transports audiences into a magical world of falling snow, fog and bubbles in his tragicomic spectacle, Slava’s Snowshow. Following a triumphant London debut, Slava toured with Cirque du Soleil’s Alegria, which continues to feature excerpts from Snowshow. Enjoying worldwide success including a nearly two-year run off Broadway, this lyrically beautiful, Olivier Award-winning theatrical experience melds the unbridled hilarity and unexpected poignancy of clowning with awe-inspiring imagery, whimsical music, and amusement park thrills.

Cemetery Movie Screenings

Cinespia (pronounced sin-eh-SPEE-uh), an organization that shows rarely screened movie classics in the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, is one of the cooler ways you’ll find to spend a Saturday night in LA. Founder John Wyatt, an L.A. set designer, started the tradition a few years ago, when his film club began to outgrow its roots. These days Cinespia has been known to draw crowds of 1000 plus; all without a shred of advertising or promotion.
Where else can you enjoy a picnic dinner under the stars while watching some of cinema's greatest films? Add DJs and a friendly vibe, all within a tombstone’s throw of the graves of Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks, and John Huston, and you’ve got an event that puts your typical dinner-and-a-movie plans to shame.
